Аннотация:This paper presents a corpus-based analysis of collocations in blogs.It analyses collocations in three small subcorpora, focusing on books andwriting, health and fitness, and personal experiences. The analysis includesa selection of the ten most frequent nouns from the wordlists producedby Sketch Engine[1] and the investigation of their word sketches. Thecollocations included in the analysis are of the “modifiers of x” and “verbswith x as object” structure. The results suggest that blogs are a snapshot ofa domain-specific phraseology, thus representing a valuable resource bothfor bloggers and language learners.
