Аннотация:The problems of the development of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan over the past 30 years are considered. Comparisons are made of the development indicators of the republic with other republics of the former USSR, primarily with the Russian Federation. The socio-economic aspect of the multi-vector policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, carried out by it since independence, is analyzed. The reasons for the economic success of Kazakhstan in comparison with other states that were previously part of the USSR are determined: the pragmatism of the economic policy of the republic, the rejection of an economically unjustified break in economic ties with the Russian Federation, an effective macroeconomic and investment policy. The successful economic projects implemented in the republic are considered. A comparison is made of some of the main development institutions in Kazakhstan and Russia. Much attention is paid to the development of education and scientific and technical potential. It is proposed to intensify scientific and technical ties in the field of high technologies between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
