Аннотация:We created a pa ent-specifi c 3-dimensional (3D) printed model of a woman with breast cancer and evaluated its applica on in surgical planning.The model included the skin, nipple-areola complex and tumor.Breast conserva on surgery (BCS) and mastectomy were presented as surgical op ons.Mastectomy was favored as BCS would necessitate signifi cant breast size altera on due to the extent of disease, which occupied the upper outer and lower outer quadrants of the breast.The pa ent was ini ally unsure how to proceed due to the extent of disease, but the pa ent and physician were in agreement with the BCS a er reviewing the model.The model was used intraopera vely at the me of BCS.Use of pa ent-specifi c 3D printed models may aid breast cancer pa ents to make treatment decisions and aid surgical planning.This technology will lead to more tailored surgical and oncological outcomes for breast cancer pa ents.
