Cisgenderismдругой
Аннотация: Although the term cisgenderism was initially used synonymously with the word “cisgender” to describe people who were “not transgender” (cf., transgenderism), it has more recently been used to describe the ideology that delegitimizes people's own understanding of their genders and bodies. Forms of cisgenderism that have been explored in empirical research include pathologizing, which refers to constructing or treating people's genders, bodies, and experiences associated with their genders and bodies as disordered (e.g., “gender identity disorder,” “gender dysphoria,” and “disorders of sex development”), and misgendering, which misclassifies people's genders and bodies (e.g., describing a woman who was assigned as male as “a man”). In contrast to approaches that treat “cisgender” and “transgender” people as essentially distinct types of people, the assumption that all people fit into a “transgender/cisgender” binary is understood in the cisgenderism framework as an essentializing form of cisgenderism that excludes a variety of people from consideration, including, but not limited to, intersex people and women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
