Аннотация:This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: Our primary objective is to compare the effectiveness of preoperative IMT and usual preoperative care on PPCs in adult patients undergoing cardiac or major abdominal surgery. We will look at the all‐cause mortality and adverse events. Our secondary objective is to investigate the effects of preoperative IMT on postoperative pulmonary functions, duration of hospital stay, and postoperative complications of other types. We will also evaluate the total drop‐out, quality of life, and cost‐effectiveness of preoperative IMT.
