Аннотация:Goal. The developing of specialized self-contained bioreactor for small-scale manufacturing of microbial plant protection products. Methods. The fermentation technology specific aspects analysis for small-scale manufacturing of microbial plant protection products was made. Self-contained bioreactor design features were determined on the base of the results analysis. Theoretical studies of self-contained bioreactor mass transfer characteristics based on volumetric mass transfer coefficient kLα evaluation were made. Experimental studies of self contained bioreactor operating conditions in bacteria and fungi cultivation for biopesticides were made. Results. The specialized self contained bioreactor for microbial plant protection products manufacturing with account for fermentation medium properties and mass transfer conditions was developed. The bioreactor special features are non-standard height to diameter ratio of fermentation tank 1:1.2; gentle agitation system by low-speed turbine with air bubbling into suction zone and simplified opening system of the cover with agitator assembly. Theoretical studies showed mass transfer intensity (kLα = 0,5-0,7 min–1) sufficiency for gentle medium agitation at low stirrer speed (75-100 rpm). Experimental studies confirmed the capability of microbial pesticides obtaining with cell concentration at 108 to 109CFU·cm–1. Conclusions. Self contained bioreactor usage at regional biofactories will allow the equipment units decreasing by refusal of growth medium making and its sterilization in separate units as well as power consumption reduction on agitation from 1.5 to 2 times. This will be resulted in operating costs reduction at 25-30 %.
