Аннотация:Here we present the results of the investigation of the liquid crystal properties, which appear to be in-herent to the 3-(4-hexadecyloxyphenyl)-1-ferrocenylpropenone previously synthesized and investigat-ed by our group; this chalcone fits the smectic phase with a polygonal focal conic structure. This com-pound has definitely demonstrated paramorphosis. The temperature interval of the liquid crystalline phase existence has been found to be 23° C.
