Аннотация:Nevruz is a holiday that is celebrated almost everywhere in which Turkish people live, from the Adriatic to the Great Wall of China.As it is known, the first sources that mention about the Turks are Chinese annuals.There is a lot of information about the Turks in the Chinese sources, especially from the time of the Huns to the emergence of the Gokturks, Uighurs and the Kyrgyz people from Ötüken.From this information, we learn that the Turks celebrated the awakening of nature on March the 21st with various activities among the Huns, Gokturks, Uighurs and Kyrgyzs.Nowruz is celebrated by many people today.It is not a religious holiday or celebration.The fact that the name Nevruz is similar in many nations shows its universality.In Indo-European languages, this name is used in almost similar ways.Among Turks, it is Baba Marta or İlkyaz Festival in Gagauz, Ulıstın Ulu Kuğu in Kazakh, Nartukan or Nurıs in Chuvash, Cilgayak in Altai, Çılpazı in Hakas, and Inspiration in Yakut.As it is noted, in the northern Turkish communities, spike names are used instead of Nevruz name.In this article, starting from the equivalent of Nevruz in different societies, the Huns, the Gokturks, the Uighurs, the Kyrgyzs, the Karahanians, the Seljuks, the Ottomans and today's appearance and celebration will be discussed from a historical perspective.
