Аннотация:In the article we considered the following variants of oil classification: technological, chemical, and geochemical (genetic). Applicability of the classification indicators (hydrocarbon composition, fractional composition of oils, asphaltic-resinous components, sulfur content, metal content) is discussed to separate oils to different chemical types Stable direct correlations between sulfur concentration in oils and diverse characteristics of oils allow to consider the sulfur content as an indicator of genetic nature.
