Аннотация:2009 is a Darwin Year, in which the bicentennieal of his birth is celebrated. In this year, we publish volume 13 (2008) of the Annals of the History and Philosophy of Biology. In addition to the usual mix of themes among the contributed papers, we have decided to also publish a facsimile print as a bibliophilous present to celebrate the Darwin bicentennial. This is a reprint of a speech held by Ernst Haeckel on "The World-view of Darwin and Lamarck. On the occasion of the centennial of Darwin on 12 February 1909 in the Volkshaus in Jena"; one of the most important speeches held to celebrate the centennial of Darwin´s birth. It is not surprising that Haeckel in his exposition mostly concentrated on Darwin himself and his immediate precursor, Jean Baptiste de Lamarck. On the other hand, Darwin´s congenial partner Alfred Russel Wallace is only mentioned in one paragraph in the 39 pages long speech.Around 1900, it was common in the biosciences to talk about the "Theory of Lamarck and Darwin" and not the "Theory of Darwin and Wallace" as having solved the "creation question" once and for all.
