In this paper, two new rotaliids, Rotalispirella acuta n. gen., n. sp., and Suturina globosa n. gen n. sp., have been described from the Campanian–lowermost Maastrichtian interval and their suprageneric assignment is proposed. The age of the new taxa is constrained by means of strontium isotope stratigraphy. The presence of Suturina n. gen. in the Late Maastrichtian of Iran (Tarbur Fm.) reveals a wide distribution of this taxon, as its presence is not restricted to the Pyrenean palaeobioprovince.
