Аннотация:In its expansion, the Europeans generated a discourse about Native American populations creating a culturally homogeneous supra-ethnic being, which fitted perfectly in the way the Europeans interpreted the world: the Indian.With the invention of cinema this ability to project unfounded characteristics and seculars stereotypes about Indian acquired a new visual and symbolic dimension of great potential.This work aims to show from documentary Yndio do Brasil (Sylvio Back, 1995), how that being has been shown, the Indian in the Brazilian cinema, and analyze the different dimensions about it and its allegorical projection on the screen.
