Аннотация:This brief essay explains the nuances and complexities of Indian elites’ subjectivities, which need to be understood beyond the simplistic frameworks of access to capital. This is done through the analysis of two recent Bollywood movies— Dil Dhadakne Do and Shaandaar—that depict the myriad struggles, vulnerabilities and strategies of the elites in forming marriage alliances.
