Аннотация:Two experiments were performed on Plantago lanceolata to examine the effects of maternal genotype and environment on the response of germination to light and the response of seedlings to nutrient supply. Response of germination to light was unaffected by a previous shading treatment but was increased by cold stratification and prolonged exposure to both red and far-red light. Effects of the maternal canopy environment were genotype-specific and depended upon stratification; maternal genotypes also differed significantly in offspring responses to specific germination cues. The effects of maternal nutrient environment on seedling growth depended upon the offspring nutrient environment and seedling age (...)
