Аннотация:BackgroundEnvironmental cues are part of differentiation processes of all cell types- and T cells are no different. Peripheral mature CD4 and CD8 T cells express ThPOK and Runx3, respectively, in a mutually exclusive fashion. In the intestine, where a large amount of diverse antigens can be constantly perceived as stimuli, the immune system developed particular pathways to deal with this rich luminal content without generating progressive inflammation. While Treg and other regulatory cells can be found in the intestinal tissue, not much is known about cell-intrinsic mechanisms that regulate CD4 T helper function at this environmental intersection.
