The 1978 ISCM World Music Daysстатья из журнала
Аннотация: According to the advance publicity for the 1978 World Music Days of the International Society for Contemporary Music, the festival was to start off with a bang-fireworks and music at the harbor in Stockholm. The fireworks and flashing lights proved to be not especially spectacular, and the music, the collaboration of four Swedish composers, proved to be insubstantial. But the real star of the evening was the sound system, speakers and amplifiers on two boats out in the harbor, each with a capability of 10,000 watts. The use of the space was truly impressive, and the harbor was filled with sound. Should the principal thrust be toward experimental attempts or should they constitute only one segment of a wide range of possibilities? Must the events consist of a chance gathering of a variety of compositions or should they be directed toward some central theme? Although the ISCM was founded specifically to provide a forum for young composers, programing efforts in recent years reflect
