Аннотация:Blackish violet crystals of the mixed valence Mo compound 1 were obtained on oxidation of [(Mo III ) 2 (μ 2 ‐S) 2 (CN) 8 ] 6⊖ . The Mo III/IV species in 1 belongs to the rare paramagnetic binuclear complexes of the heavy transition metals; the Mo IV species is diamagnetic. Although the structures of the two complex anions differ only slightly, markedly different MoMo distances of 279.0 and 268.4 pm, respectively, are observed. equation image
