Аннотация:Remote control: A novel molecular design is described and used to probe the activation of transition-metal-based ethylene polymerization and oligomerization initiators by the action of a Lewis acid across an electronically delocalized structural unit. Compound 1 which has a Lewis acid attached to a site removed from the trajectory of the incoming substrate, shows high activity for ethylene oligomerization.
