Аннотация:This article focuses on the reactions and celebrations of the victory of Las Navas de Tolosa in the Castilian diplomatic and historiographical record. In particular it highlights the increased focus on crusade (rhetorical, ideological, and institutional) in the kingdom of Castile, and Christian Spain generally, during the campaign of 1212 and in the following years. This significant ideological impact of 1212 is contrasted to the relative insignificance of a single battle to Castilian–Almohad relations/trajectories.
