Аннотация:Cancer is a world problem investigated by specialists in many lines who see it differently through the eyes of their own experience as chemists, radiologists, surgeons, pathologists or geneticists. All, however, have the single ultimate goal of learning how to overcome cancer and the public is aroused as never before, thanks principally in this country to the American Cancer Society. Consider here briefly a few of the reports of progress dealing primarily with causation, prevention, diagnosis and treatment without reference to many advances in the cytology and chemistry of cancer. This drastic restriction means that many of the four hundred and eleven investigators who presented their results at the Congress and thereby helped to make it a success are not mentioned by name.
