Аннотация:There is good news for our ageing population: repairing the human brain is possible. After two decades of research, scientists are now confident that implanting cells directly into the brain can restore lost function. The hope is that, in time, neural grafts may become a clinically useful treatment for intractable degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke, and possibly Huntington's disease and epilepsy. Yet neuroscientists are still honing the ideal therapeutic product.
