Аннотация:This research deals with the cinematographic presentation of the shanty towns in Turkey. Those representations show the crisis of urbanization in Turkey. In addition, they point out the major permanent problems in Turkey like the social inequality, under development, 'East Anatolian problem', the contradiction between the modern and traditional life style, etc… In fact, those shanty towns are turned in to a thema and a scenery for the popular Turkish cinema.
