Аннотация:HISTÓRICO Em 188.1, Rabenhorst (5) mencionou Melampsora eucalypti sobre folhas de Eucalyptus globulus coligidas no horto botânico de Calcutá, em janeiro de 1874, mas esta espécie foi recusada por vários autores.Sydow e Sydow (25) escreveram, a propósito : "Die in den Fung, eur, n.° 2592 ausgegebenen Originalexemplare enthalten ueberhaupt keinen Pilz, sondem nur blasig aufgetriebene, pustelartige Flecke, die aus verfaerbten Zellen der Naehrpflanze bestehen und die Rabenhorst anscheinend fuer pilzlicher Natur angesehen hat".McAlpine (11), que também examinou o espécime original de Fung, eur, n.° 2592, nos informa : "It is passing strange that upon our numerous Eucalypts and kindred species not a single rustfungus should have developed . . . . . .Melampsora eucalypti Rabh.found in Calcutta on the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus is merely a name, and the specimens show no indications of a rust".
