Аннотация:The method of gas chromatography was used to examine three fragments of Bronze age pottery from one vessel from dwelling N 1 of the Elchimo-1 settlement in the Lower Angara region. Fatty acid analysis and its interpretation showed that the vessel was used for cooking various foods. Ruminant meat has been identified and the most likely sources have been suggested (Alces americanus, Capreolus pygargus, Cervus elaphus). There is a high probability of the presence of animal lipids of aquatic origin, which is supported by archaeological finds of ichthyofauna in similar sites. In addition to these, other products of animal origin were present, the identification of which requires further research. Further development of the method will make it possible to solve such problematic issues of archaeology, the solution of which is not possible without the use of natural science methods
