Аннотация: The food security is the central problem of this study. Over the past three years, in the Russian Federation this issue has become particularly acute. The purpose of this study is to examine the issues of evaluation and determining of the food security level. The object of the research is the system of food security of the Russian Federation. The neural network programming, comparison and systems analysis methods have become the methodological basis of the research. Key issues in the field of food production and consumption were highlighted in the course of the study. To assess the food security, the indicators reflecting the basic situation of food economic and physical availability, and quality of food have been identified. Kohonen maps were constructed, and clustering of regions in terms of food security was executed. The basic regional types with relevant food safety parameters were specified.
