Аннотация:In 1948, F.N. Mil'kov introduced the concept of landscapes-analogues as equivalent landscape units of any rank, which show the similarity. In 1957, V. B. Sochava introduced the regionaltypological principle to classify the vegetation. It lies in the fact that, within different regions, the regional relationships between the types of communities that define their specific features can develop. The regional-typological landscape analysis makes it possible to represent the individual features of geosystems in more detail, to reflect them in the legend of the landscape map, and to classify and clarify the boundaries of natural regions. The regional-typological principle was used to compose the legend of the landscape map of the Russian Altai [Chernykh, Samoilova, 2011]. The typification of landscapes is limited to physiographic provinces. The types of landscapes are the basic units of mapping. One of their characteristics is that they are considered as a provincial version of the appropriate subtype and subgenus of landscapes. The types of landscapes, with some restrictions, can be regarded as the analogues in quantifying the landscape structure of provinces. Therefore, it is possible to identify the causes and differences between landscapes-analogues, and to evaluate their contribution to the landscape diversity of provinces. Several examples describing the usefulness of regional-typological analysis for a more in-depth understanding of landscape structure are given. The outcome of this analysis is the differentiation of landscapes of dark taiga and glacial-nival landscapes of different provinces, and the characteristics of altitudinal distribution of landscapes-analogues in different provinces.
