In the studying of electrotechnical disciplines there is a need to show electrical processes, flowing in electrical circuits. These processes are usually too transient, and for the demonstration it is necessary to use mathematical models. The persuasiveness and comprehensibility of the phenomena under consideration depend on the quality of the implementation of these models, on the reasonableness of the graphical representation and the dynamics of the processes. The article describes several demonstration applications used in the study of electrical engineering. The first application "Sinusoid and its corresponding vector" is used in the study of sinusoidal currents and voltages. It helps to show the influence of the main parameters of the blue-shaped variable value on the law of its change. On the example of the application it is convenient to explain the principle of operation of the oscilloscope. However, the main feature of the application is the mapping of the vector corresponding to the sinusoidal function of time. Understanding the relationship of a sinusoid with a vector rotating in a plane is basic when mastering the complex method of calculating circuits with alternating currents and voltages. The application "Non-sinusoidal function" allows to investigate the influence of various harmonic components of the Fourier series on the appearance of a non-sinusoidal periodic function. In the application, it is convenient to demonstrate the effect of zero harmonics, to make sure that higher harmonics distort the waveform, to determine the influence of the initial phase and frequency of harmonics on the appearance of the resulting graph. The application "Transients" allows you to understand the essence of the three main states in a linear electric circuit: the pre-switching state, the initial condition and the forced component. The application provides the ability to simulate various types of transition processes (aperiodic, oscillatory, no transient).
